Meet our Performers
Get to know some of our musical performers by reading about them below
Apryl Knight plays music from many times and many lands on WAY too many instruments. Her favorites are the hurdy gurdy (wheeled fiddle) and bowed psaltery. She also enjoys the flute, bodhran, pennywhistle, and piano (though that one is too big to carry around the faire). She currently has a CD of Ren Faire favorites and a CD of Medieval and Renaissance Dance Tunes. She is currently working on a CD of original geeky songs.
Harper Melissa has been appearing at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival for many years. She delights in sharing her traditional harp music with young and old alike and knows a tune for almost any occasion or mood. Stop by and hear songs of fairies and princesses, slow laments and lively dance tunes, and almost anything in between.
Jackie Hoffman has been a cast member and performer at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival since 2000. She appears as Anya Lautari, the matriarch of the Gypsy Clan. Anya is a vivid storyteller and can be found entertaining patrons and children throughout the village as she recounts colorful tales. As would any traditional Romani musician, she always travels with her cello. You might hear her playing solo Gypsy melodies, and most certainly will find her in the band with our Chuvani Bellydance and Schererazade Drums. When she is not at the festival, she works as an emergency room doctor.
